New Years Resolutions
New Years Solutions
I’m always searching for the best way to do things. I really sweat it hard and try to give 110% only to find myself like a frantic hamster in a rolly-ball. What I am slowly learning is there is not always one right way to do something but many different ways to do something.
I come from a place of creative artistry, that’s my benchmark but others come from a technical background and both can achieve very similar goals.
Our country’s way of life has been drastically altered by financial corruption on a pretty crippling scale which is a chance for us to adapt to a new way of life. Life doesn’t have to suck. I’ve met people who have survived concentration camps…that really is living, inescapable hell and they have made me laugh, shared meals and our time together…so what this tells me is in our new year look for all the ways we can adapt for the better, for the joyful and meaningful…don’t deprive yourself just find a way to get the joy or the needs met creatively and the qualitative will add up too.
Since things were tight financially this year I made CD’s for family and friends. The ones I sent to my Aunts and Uncle’s were comedy songs from National Lampoon, Paul and Storm, Martin Mull, Weird Al, Mel Brooks and more. I figured a little laughter is a great way to start your day. My window washer for the salon is kind of a Issac Hayes kind of guy so I burned him my double disc of “Can Your Dig It,” a great compilation of a great era of Black Power Afro-Jazz/funk…man I love that stuff.
For me spreading the music is spreading the love. How do you spread the love?
In 2011 my goal will be to take it a little easier on myself mentally and focus on spreading the good vibes…cause they really do come back to you and that is creative and qualitative so gee the two great tastes can go together!
